Articulation & Speech Sound Therapy
When your child has something to say, you want others to understand. BVG SLP offers online articulation and speech sound therapy for children, with individualized support for clearer everyday communication.
Book a ConsultationWhen support may help
- Others often ask your child to repeat words or have difficulty understanding them.
- Your child leaves out, substitutes, or changes sounds in ways that persist beyond what is expected for their development.
- Your child becomes frustrated when their message is misunderstood.
Skills we may address
- Producing individual speech sounds and using them in meaningful words.
- Addressing patterns of sound errors that affect intelligibility.
- Listening for sound differences and noticing speech productions.
- Using practiced sounds in phrases, sentences, and conversation.
Speech patterns vary with development, language, and dialect. Differences alone do not mean a child needs therapy. An individualized assessment helps identify whether articulation or phonological difficulties need support.
How online therapy works
Your child's goals guide the activities, cues, and level of practice. Sessions may combine picture-based tasks, games, and conversation to make repeated practice purposeful. Intervention is developmentally appropriate and informed by evidence, clinical judgment, and your child's response.
Sessions typically last 30 minutes, with duration and frequency individualized to clinical needs. We discuss whether virtual therapy is a good fit and what adult support or technology your child may need.
Helping skills carry into everyday life
Your SLP can show you how to practice selected sounds in brief, manageable moments between sessions. Sharing which words are easier or harder at home helps keep practice relevant to your child.
For children who also need support understanding or expressing ideas, explore expressive and receptive language therapy.
