How to play?
YOU WILL NEED POWERPOINT TO PLAY THE GAME. Students will click on the squares to slowly reveal the picture of an insect hiding underneath. The object of the game is to guess the insect in as few clicks as possible. The images of the insects are full-color high definition real pictures.
There’s a separate slide for each insect presented. Have students practice describing as they complete the included graphic organizer. Each insect also has a separate page with “Did You Know” facts. In addition, students will practice comparing and contrasting using the diagrams provided. This structured, comprehensive approach encourages reinforcement of important skills. As a result, repetition between slides allows for consistency. There is an abundance of language embedded. So you can introduce new vocabulary, following simple directions, auditory comprehension, and expressive language.

This unit displays nicely on interactive Smartboards for whole group instruction. It’s a fun way to get the entire class involved.
