Today we are going to be discussing platform friendly resources for speech teletherapy. There are a number of great options available and I want to help you navigate to find the best fit for you and your students. With each new blog post, I really want to continue to remind you to stay up to date with ASHA’s position and the most recent information (as of Wednesday, April 2nd at 6:00 p.m – check back regularly for new updates) www.asha.org/About/Coronavirus-Updates.
First and foremost always take care of yourselves and your families as we continue to navigate through this unfamiliar terrain. It has definitely been a challenge but please know that we will get through this together. Supporting one another is what we do best as SLPs and educators and I want to share what I have learned along this journey.
A question that I have been receiving quite frequently this past week is in regards to what types of resources work best for teletherapy. As much as I love my personal favorites, I do want you to be aware of your options when it comes to incorporating fun, engaging, and effective resources. When I first started as a teletherapist, there were not a lot of resources specifically designed with a teletherapy platform in mind. Fast forward to today and you do have a large number of digital lessons at your fingertips to make planning your sessions so much easier.
I have been receiving requests for more videos, so I decided to answer this question in the form of a video tutorial. In this video I will review the difference between:
- Static PDFs
- Interactive PDFs
- Interactive PowerPoints
- Resources for Google Drive
- Boom Cards
Several of you have purchased my Teletherapy MEGA Bundle which includes a variety of all the different resources listed above. This bundle has EIGHT Static PDFs, ONE Interactive PDF, ONE Interactive PowerPoint, FOUR Resources for Google Drive, FIVE Boom Card Decks, and ONE Fully-Editable Excel Progress Monitoring File.
The video tutorial is going to demonstrate how to share the various resource types with your students using the Zoom platform. Please note that regardless of the platform that you are using, there is a help desk or possibly video tutorials specific to your platform that can answer some of your questions. I hope you find the tutorial helpful, click below to watch.
If you have any questions or concerns, please comment below or email me directly at belinda@bvgslp.com. I am happy to help and plan to create more videos in the coming weeks in response to your questions. To trial out one of my digital Boom Card resources, be sure to subscribe to my newsletter to have it delivered directly to your inbox for FREE. You will also receive a BUNDLE of FREEBIES to sample a Static PDF, an Interactive PowerPoint, and TWO additional Boom Card Samples.
